            Walt, I have about 5/8 oz's in mine. By the time I sandwiched it and glued it in with epoxy, it's probably close to 3/4. I have used Sig Nylon 3" cranks I have no experience using the Brodak version.

I don't want the trouble of making them adjustable or having a tip weight box so how much tip weight to add and were would you put the lead outs on a vintage combat similar to a Sneaker.

Engine is G21 - 35 SuperTiger, lines .018" x 60'

Would a Brodak 3" plastic bellcrank be strong enough for something like this?

Brodak bellcranks work great. Good choice on the line size I've had .015" x 60' snap but not at a connection.
Skip the weight box and set weight and leadouts to drawing spec.

I've had THREE nylon bellcranks bend or break.  I don't trust them on anything above low speed sport planes.

You can't just use a simple number for tip weight.  You need to size it the finished model including leadouts, engine, tank, etc. 

For a 35-40 size plane I would test-balance it an add enough weight to achieve unity then add another 1/2 ounce. 

Forget the box and drill a 1/8" hole and glue in some solder.
