True, I never scrolled this far down before. I also missed the original events of '62-66 I plan to describe, but the story has been retold a great deal so it almost seems like I'd been there. A half dozen Jr. Satans, all with 19s - a couple of Torps, a Veco, and the rest Red Head McCoys, three wacked out CL modellers, and time to play is the setup. One of the three is moderately experienced in combat, two others are not.
With a couple of helpers, they kept at least two Satans in the air for a half hour at a time, with a couple of repeats in a day, on several occasions, keeping no count of cuts, kills or air time, just refueling, replacing props, and relaunching as soon as only one plane is still in the air. They claimed later that no total loss collisions or crashes occurred, although gradually accumulated small damage accidents always reduced the flyable number to just one (no Hot Stuff and filler for fast repairs yet).
