Count Clipper and Mackey Kite
« on: September 17, 2019, 06:27:24 PM »
Anybody ever build or fly Charles Mackey's Kite design.  Basically he took the pan and extended the wing to 36in(I think) spanwise, and ran it all the way back to the end of the pan.  The trailing edge chord was about 60% of the max span.  The leading edge had a taper of about 2 in. and was built up out of three layers of 1/4 in. wood.

It was for sure heavy like the Count Clipper, but had enough wing area to do reasonable loops and maybe even fly combat.
