Ok, my view of nostalgia combat is not quite the same as everyone else's. For me combat started on a day in 1978 when I first saw one of the Chicago guys flying a Bosta fast. I decided in that moment that the sport planes I was flying weren't going to do it for me anymore.
So, given the snowbound weekend here in the NE, I put a couple together. Now, I just need to dig up a couple old Mark III's and I can host my own nostalgia combat match.

And just to keep things interesting, I made a pair of Monobooms to go with them. My memories of these are not so fond and looking at them they seem a bit intimidating. Aren't they just going to fold in half on the first hard turn?
The Monoboom did indeed need some strong building to keep it together.

Dave, I might have a spare Mk something or other. TS

Dave, this is a not so formal reminder that Nostalgia combat day this year is Sept. 24 at Lincoln Park. Make us all happy and come out.

I will plan on the vintage event in September.
As far as engines, I should be ok. I have a pair of Mark IV's and a Mark III. I think the Bosta should have a ST to be authentic although the first one I ever saw had a K&B40 on it and it was remarkable. I've got a 1980 TWA that I can bolt on instead. A Hoffelt engine would be killer on a monoboom but I haven't ever even seen one of those!

Nice plane's Dave, I defiantly want to be there when you fly them. I don't see a pacifier pod. What are you using for a fuel tank.

Nice Dave !!! Careful ....This can be habit forming and the next thing you know you have 80 or so of them!

I did these three this week. Wayne Welch constructed the SportWing and the Bandit. I covered, painted, and framed them. The Nose Cone, Was sent to me finished, along with a Sneeker, Nemisis, and VooDoo, all done in silk and dope, build and donated by Dan Reedy, Gill Reedy's son.

They have bladder tubes in the leading edge. AFAIK that was how they were originally. Plans call for Estes rocket tubes. The Monoboom has such a small wing that I had to use a 1/2A bladder tube so I guess I will use an extra-long 1/2A bladder for it.

Without seeing your shop I would think you might be ready to add an addition. LL~ LL~
