Post by: Arlan McKee on February 11, 2015, 02:48:53 PM
Can anyone tell me where to balance a Bosta?

Thanks,
Arlan

My guess would be the front of the 1/4"-square spar.  I asked Neal.  I'll endeavor to report his advice.

He said, "I don't honestly remember, but it is proportionally the same place as a Nemesis II.  One of the issues with the Bosta is that the center ribs are 10 inches, vs 9 on the Nemesis II, which pushes the honkin' motor out 10%.  I used to put a Tigre as close to the leading edge as I could, and recess a Fawx about 1/4 inch into the LE."

Nemesis CG goes at the front of the spar.  Spars are probably the same fraction of chord, so my guess was probably close.

Thanks, Howard.
That is exactly where it balances
I will have a little more diminutive Fox 15bb providing the honk, so I don't have a nose-heavy issue.
I did, however, build it with a single carbon fiber boom that can slide in or out. It looks really cool from the top
or bottom but I do miss that double airfoil look you get from the side with the balsa and ply booms.
