Title: Beautiful Day for Combat Today
Post by: ChrisSarnowski on September 19, 2010, 02:22:23 PM
We had a really nice day for combat today in Saugus, MA at the 107th Flyer's club.
Hope we can get the same weather for the F2D guys next weekend down in Kingston MA.

Formula GX speed limit combat with 6 competitors.

Neil Simpson took 1st, Joe Fustolo took 3rd, and I snagged 2nd place.

Richard Sherman took home the Sportsman's Trophy.

Results should be up tomorrow on the NECN web site at http://necn.homestead.com

We went over to Middlesex NJ. and had a fun,if expensive day- 3 midairs in 10 matches!

1st  Louis Lopez
2nd Roy Glenn
3rd  DanReedy
the scores dropped dramatically after 1st place, since everybody but Louis had at least one midair.

Single Elim Half A
1st Roy Glenn with 2 kills
2nd Dan Reedy with 1 kills
3rd  Al Ferraro

I remember watching a combat match for First and Second place at my first and only Combat Contest.

They midaired so hard that the engines could not be pried apart.  Cooling fins between cooling fins.

That looked too expensive for me to get into.

Wait til you see Nelson that only thing left is the crank and case below it.  Don't know if they ever found the top portion or not.  The other engine wasn't as bad.   H^^

I was standing next to Henry Nelson at the Nats when there was an engine-to-engine smash.  He turned to me, grinned, and said, "That's an N-N collision.  You get two neutrinos and $560."
