60's Motown revival at the Beanfield
« on: June 30, 2008, 04:45:56 AM »
Batman returns !

News at eleven.

A weather report for starters:
The area got hit with a 2" rainstorm Friday night.  But Brad had wisely located his two private circles on high ground, so the only impact was some muddy tires on our cars.  The softened ground was a cost saving for those who checked the turf.  We lost some practice and fun flying time, as well as some photo ops, but the workers and flyers hung in and flew all the events to conclusion.

The results and limited photo coverage is expected to be back from the drug store soon.

Speed Limit Combat - 128 KPH or 80 MPH in the King's English

1st - Steve "Batman" Kott  3-0-1
2nd - Ivan MacKenzie  3-1-1
3rd - Paul Smith  2-1
4th Vadim Polack 1-2
5th Dan Birks, Pat MacKenzie, Ed & Jon Brzys, and Stewart Henderson 0-1.

This was 13-year-old Dan Birks' first match of combat, a summary execution by Ivan.  In the past eight days, Dan has taken 3rd and 2nd in two LA25 Races against Open competition.  In addition, Dan passed a flight test on an all-out F2d model.

Field owner, event sponser, and F2 Team Manager Brad LaPointe.

The Speed Limit Combat flyers, less Pat MacKenzie.
