Title: 3 2,5's from Al Burkhart Fora sold.
Post by: phil c on April 30, 2020, 07:26:57 PM
Al was an eclectic collector- whatever he found interesting.  Send me an email or message with offers.  I've seen prices anywhere from $10-200.00

Sold!  Frst is an un-run Fora2.5cc from the early 2000's- it has  4mm intake hole.  No muffler(such as they are).  119grams.  These still are good running engines but the top fliers newer versions are definitely faster.  Something like this is better for learning to fly F2D with a cooperative partner.  AAC liner.  With a well-built plane this motor will give a pretty good imitation of Fast combat without pulling your arm out of the socket.

The second motor is a Para Tiger 2.5 Glow.  It's built in Europe to very high standards, similar to Fora, but seems to be aimed at more sport flying than top competition.  About 130 granma, 143 grams with a muffler header.  Looks to like and ABC liner.

The last one is an Uktkam 2,5k.  131 grams.  This is a high performance Russian sport engine now.  It originally was used quite a bit in F2D until mufflers became a requirement.

First is an un-run Fora2.5 from the early 2000's- it has the larger 4mm intake hole allowed at the time.  119grams.  These still are good running engines but the top fliers newer versions are definitely faster.  Something like this is better for learning to fly F2D with a cooperative partner.  With a well-built plane this motor will give a pretty good imitation of Fast combat without pulling your arm out of the socket.

4mm is still the allowed size for F2D. The difference back then was the muffler outlet diameter was 8mm and the current rule is 6mm. properly set up, they will go as fast with an 8mm muffler as the new ones do with a 6mm muffler. Excellent for fun/ sport flying/practice matches or F2D fast. All current parts interchange except super Fora crank and long cyl pist/liner/head

Yes, I missed that. Just as well. I don't do bidding wars where you can't see the bids.
