I am intrested in 1/2 a combat & 1/2 a speed! i have a 061 speed motor witch I intend to use for both.
my question is, it has a button head for a turbo plug, and I have a button head for nelson plugs.
both heads have a chamfor at the bottom for a seal. I have heard somewhere that i should use
some kind of anti-sieze on the threads ' cause the button is so small, it might turn if the plu is in
there too long? please helllllllllppppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1/2A is .050 and smaller.

Step One is to get some 1/2A engines.

I used to like 1/2A when you could compete with Balcak Widows or TeeDee .049's.

At today's prices, you might as well get into an event that uses LA 15's or 25's.

To answer the question, a steel plug in an aluminum head or adapter is prone to seizing or galling the alum. threads. Automotive anti-seize compound prevents that. I don't know from experience but have always read the additional warning, "Don't get any compound on or near the plug element." I guess it burns them out or something.
