Title: Wanted: LA.46 Cylinder Liner/ FOUND!!!
Post by: Dan McEntee on January 26, 2021, 07:02:38 AM

What would be the chances of finding a good, used OS LA.46 cylinder liner in some one's junk box out there. I have an experiment I want to do, and I have a usable piston, just need a decent liner. Maybe something that survived a crash, or one that got pulled for a Brian Gardner replacement? Drop me a PM if you have something out there.

  Thanks a lot,
    Dan McEntee

I can't tell you, but if it works, the results will be of biblical proportions! It will end the pandemic, stop world hunger, end crime in the streets, and just make the country safer for Mom, apple pie, and the girl you left behind!

That's not what I'm doing. I wouldn't waste parts from two different  engines on something like that.

I'm doing the same thing. Putting an LA46 piston/sleeve in a Brodak 40. Not getting much power without the boost port as the side transfers are too small.

Motorman 8)

I used  to do that for lots of  engine, when I could not  get sufficient  charge into the chamber, I perforated  piston ported  the  engine, that is  mill small slots or holes in the piston side, and bring the charge  from underneath the piston, let it loop around to the  top of the  piston and into the chamber
