I've always used a single piece of leadout wire around the bellcrank, sometimes with external leadout connections, and sometimes terminating in internal monoline buttons somewhere along the wing. The bellcrank has a groove around it that the cable fits in, and the cable threads down and back up through the bottom flange of the bellcrank similar to the adjuster on the old "Hot Rock" handle. For a while in F2C, they used a single long length of flying wire with no connections between the airplane and the handle connectors. Now they use a small conventional bellcrank and short leadouts inside the wing.
