Sterling Mustang and Yak 9 laser cut ribs
« on: July 29, 2024, 08:23:21 AM »
I have laser cut ribs for the Sterling Mustang and Yak 9 planes.  I believe these are cut the way the plane was originally done and not modernized.  Plans can be downloaded off of the Internet.  $15 for a set of ribs only.  I can bring to the NATS.  Otherwise shipping would probably be $5 to $10.

Are you going to cut any twister ribs. I’d be interested in a couple of Francher sets.
Thanks
Mark

These ribs were some I found in my dad's stuff.  I have no idea where he got them.  Or even how to cut some Twister ribs.  Although that is an interesting idea.

Any chance of showing some pictures of the ribs?

I am not sure how to compress the picture to fit.  If I can send it to someone full size and then they compress it for me and post it that would work.

Hi Matt, I sold them to your dad many years ago. Shortly after I took over the G.S.M. kit line I had a fellow modeler with a laser draw them into cad and cut them. Then when I decided not to make those kits I sold your dad 50-55 sets. I thought that he had sold them on his site.
Thank you and God Bless

He did sell them on his site.  He just did not wind up selling them all.  Now I have inherited them and would like to sell them.  Thanks for the info.  Nice to know where they came from.

Matt, if you will measure the height of the ribs at the leading edge, I can probably tell you which plan might be appropriate.  You might have better luck offering the sets with a construction plan, but then again, I'm often wrong.
