Stalker Engines 2022 ------From Tom Dixon
« on: December 04, 2021, 06:05:54 PM »

I am in process of restocking Stalker engines to be delivered to me after January 1st.  All are good engines, but my personal favorites are the .76 rear exhaust and .51 side exhaust.

The .51 is very versatile.  It can easily fly a 675 sq in 60 oz. model, or a large profile such as my Tutor Too.  I have one in a nearly 70oz, semi-scale clip-wing Taylorcraft and it will pull it through a pattern.

I recently put a .76RE in my Time Machine based Vantage, which has flown in two Nats with a Stalker.66. The .66 is no slouch, but the .76 made it a new plane! I can fly it slower, with better line tension above 45 degrees, with the .76 on a 13x5 prop. (The engine will turn more prop—I’m ground clearance limited) The .76 uses 3 ¾ oz.  0/17 fuel for the pattern.  The .51 uses a little over 3 oz.

All stalker engines work fine on no-nitro fuel.  With today’s supply and price issues with nitro, that is something to consider looking forward the next few years. I haven’t run nitro for the last three contest seasons; with enough engine, you don’t need it. If you would want a Stalker, now is the time to let me know, so I can be sure your engine is here for building season.

Have a very Merry Christmas and Healthy, Happy New Year!

The 76RE should be around $375.

I am not an agent for Stalker or Tom Dixon but that is the worldwide price.

What is the going rate on a 51RE?  I have a brand new, un touched, 46RE (not seen a drop of fuel, a mounting bolt or even a prop to flip) bought right from Ruslan, but it’s too much for the last project, and not enough for the next one.
