Title: Looking for kit....
Post by: Mike Hazel on December 31, 2020, 09:53:15 AM
I am on the hunt for an old kit for a friend who does not have computer access right now.  He describes it as a "Sullivan PDQ Senior".  The plane is from the late 1940's, and has a wingspan of (about) 32 inches.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.    Mike

I suspect he's looking for a PDQ kit, most or many of which were designed by Matt Kania.  Kania then went to Sterling (which your friend may have mistaken for Sullivan) and designed many similar models.

Thanks for jogging my memory!  A PDQ 1/2-A Mustang was what I would call my "first successful build and fly many times" model.  Maybe someone here has a kit ...

Dennis

PS: The "Clown" series - Brodak supplies a few - also originated with PDQ.  The Sullivan PDQ 6 (photo added) was originally a published plan, not sure if it was related to Kania or PDQ Company in any way.  25" wingspan, O&R .23, built by Bill Darkow.  Good Luck!

Thanks, not sure if that is it or not since I am working on this somewhat second hand.  The pic could be very useful.   Anyone else have any clues?  mike

Speaking of PDQ Mustang, isn't someone here building (built) one recently? I seem to remember a thread on one. It was here, RCG or CEF. Or was it a PDQ Zero?

I don't think it was CEF, but I frequent here, and those two places pretty regularly (and mix them up just as regularly).
