Looking for Fancher flap horn
« on: September 06, 2022, 06:14:22 PM »
I’ve started building my next NATS plane and I’m looking for a Fancher flap horn I could use in it. If nobody has it, would there be anyone out there willing to make the horn?

Picture of the flap horn I’m looking for attached

Thank you!

To expand on Matt's correct reply.........

In the side view of a traditional stunter, notice that the push rod from the bellcrank to flap horn is not parallel to the thrust line and is far from perpendicular from a traditional flap horn.  The horn in the sketch improves the linearity of the system by compensating for the bellcrank pushrod angle.

To expand further:  it doesn’t matter. You can get a linear response from either a bent-forward flap control horn or a straight flap control horn.
