Full Electric Setup
« on: May 03, 2021, 12:16:26 AM »
Is anyone out there getting out of electric or have a setup they don't plan to use anymore?  Before I go out and get all new stuff to replace what I lost in the fire I thought I would see if there is something here.  The ship I am building already has front mounts for a Cobra 35xx so anything that fits that is good. I like my KV's in the 700 range.  I am quite familiar with the Castle/Hubin combination but, having flown an OPP with an active timer I "see the light".  I need everything.

Well, I'm a complete newbie to electrics this year but I'm using 2 set ups. First is the complete ready to install RSM set up. The 74 size in a brodak arf SV-11. It has the black tiger motor, esc and the KR timer which I'm really getting to like.
My other set ups are the badass motor and esc combo with another KR timer in each.

Here is the description of the 60-74 set up from rsm's website; RSM .61 - .74 Competition Level Power System Equal to .61 to .74 glow power. Includes a RSM Black Tiger 4250C Motor, 65 Amp Speed Controller, KR Flight Manager, 2600 mAh 5 cell 30C Battery & 13 x 4.5 Pusher Prop. Comes with all programming installed. This power system is ready to be installed in your model. Just flip the switch and fly!

Here is the badass esc I use;  https://innov8tivedesigns.com/badass-rebel-series-brushless-esc-65a.html
and the motor; https://innov8tivedesigns.com/badass-3520-790kv-brushless-motor.html
This setup is in the SV-22 in my avatar and works with the thunderpower 5S-2800 mah batteries (25C)

For my Gypsy, it uses the smaller Badass 2820-780kv motor, same esc, and KR timer with the same battery swinging a 12x4.5" bolly 3 blade prop with 18% left in the battery after a flight of 5:10.

On all planes I use the MPI arming switch.
