Hi Bill, I think there should be some really interesting responses to this thread.
Any way my favourite classic model would have to be the "Ramrod" as kitted in Australia by montgomery models. It dates back to about 57' or 58'.
Originally designed for an O.S 29, 48" span, constant chord flapped wing, upright engine, bubble canopy, all sheet tail surfaces and spatted gear. Powered with a Merco 35, it was the model I really learned to fly the pattern with.
I intend to build another one before long, the last one was 34oz and I will aim for 30oz with the next one via a lighter engine (O.S 35 max S) which will mean less tail weight and a "lincoln log" type wing ( the strip ribs are already cut and waiting in a drawer!)
All in all an outstanding model.
