What size keadouts for a 5' built-up model with .35-.45 size engine?

OK, Gents!
Subject says it all. The model of subject right now is a UKIE with Fox .35. Another model is smaller at 34" with a Cox Medallion .15.

So I hope to buy one 50 foot spool of 7-strand to cover lead-outs for both models.

I fly .049-.074, so this is uncharted territory for me.

  I have an oddball set of .027" lines that I figured I would never use to fly anything, so I have been using that for lead outs. If you use the method of putting lead out wire through thin copper tubing, then bending to a tear drop shape to put through your bell cranks as a method of bushing the bell crank, this will fit through 1/6" copper tubing also. Plenty strong for almost any stunt model.

Ken Culbertson:
Technically, anything that is stronger than your lines which usually means a larger diameter.  If your lines break on a pull test you want them to do it outside the wing.  If they break in flight, it won't matter.  Just don't use something so small that it can wear out at the bellcrank.

ISTR .027 being the magic number. Now I feel better (I couldn't trust the oxygen-powered carbon-based computer under my hair).

I thought that too, but I wanted to be pretty close to legal/appropriate.

I think I have some .018, so that will be employed by my BHM Challenger. I'll also keep my eye open for an old spool of .027 for the UKIE.
