HI Chief,

I had always thought the Sleekster was a neat looking model.  But, after hearing your report on it I have decided against it! ;D

Bunny was Tailskid's sister.

That issue of Flying Models was 55 years ago.  I wonder what Bunny looks like now.

Over the years, rather than save magazines, I have copied material that interested me and filed that away in 3-ring binders under various subjects.  I have 10 shelves, 30" wide, filled with these binders.  Sometimes, I can remember something that might be in one of them.

Bunny looks exactly the same today as she did then... she's a cartoon! None of our cartoon heroes ever age; why would our cartoon sweethearts?

Bob,

Oh my goodness.  I knew there must be a reason why I have always liked her.  Thank you so much for explaining it to me.

Fixit, Tailskid and Bunny -- especially Bunny -- were a prime reason for buying or subscribing to FM back in the '50s.  Wish someone would draw that feature again!

For a kid of 13 at the time she was a looker, but too old for me.   I think it was Annette that caught my eye before I got hung up on control line models.

I too am guilty of reading my old model magazines. Some of the old ones seem to hold more excitement for me than the new ones. I don't know what it is, but that old paper and the content just does something for me that the new ones don't have. When I was in high school in the 50's, we had Air Trails in the library. It is no wonder my grades suffered as I was always reading them in study hall instead of doing my required lessons. I did do OK in shop though since I could make parts for my engines there. History suffered along with civics and other subjects. I seemed to think that model airplanes, cars, motorcycles, and girls, were more important. Go figure.
