Classic guys,
I bought a Thunderbird (inverted engine version) produced by Aero Engineering at the Southeast Model Show last week. On the plans it says "original Veco design from the original Veco dies" but no date is shown. I bought it with the intention of getting into classic. Will it be legal?

The Aero Engineering version is a part for part copy of the late Veco/Dumas Thunderbird kit. It should be legal for Classic by anyones book.

What the box and other post said is true - it is the Veco T-Bird but produced by Aero Engineering. They were produced in the early 90's (maybe late 80's) from exact dies and I original wood and hardware. The few I have seen were packaged in re-labeled Veco boxes and had rust on the wire gear, die crushed parts and appeared vintage in every way. I don't know what became of this effort but they were only available for a short time. I know the T-Bird and Chief were produced, not sure about the Smoothie.

On Sunday, I went back to make the guy an offer on that kit and it was gone. Now I know!!! When I come to Winter Haven, you can at least let me fly it.
Phil, I sent you an email about doing some flying in Lake Wales on the 18th or 19th.
