Top Flite kit N-14 ??
« on: April 28, 2020, 07:39:09 AM »
I got some die-cut rib sheets from (I believe) Top Flite kit N-14.

Do any of you model historians know what that kit was?  It's a tapered symmetrical wing.

Kit N-14 is the original Tutor. N-15 is the Gieseke Nobler.  kits N-11 through 13 were the 1/2A stunt series Mustang, Cosmic Wind and Hurricane just for giggles and grins. All the stunt models carried the "N" designation beginning with the green box Nobler, kit N-1. If it's a complete set of ribs, I would be interested in them if you are looking to unload them for a reasonable price. Let me know.

According to one reply, its' an RC kit called The Bushwacker.  By the look of the ribs this seems wrong.  My ribs are true symmetrical.

I'll take a look.  I might have an extra full set to spare.

All Top Flite R/C kits had the prefix "RC" in front of the kit number. The Bushwacker would have been "RC-xxx or what ever the number was. I've been looking for it in catalogs and magazines but haven't found it yet. The photo is too blury to enlarge or you could probably see the kit number, and as you say, the airfoil is a semisymetrical on that model.

If you have a use for them, don't worry about it. I have a full kit and a second that is just missing the ribs. If yours were looking for a home I was going to provide it, but not a big deal.

The Bushwacker isn't even a Top Flite kit. I did a search on Outerzone and it came up as being from Marks Models. I checked the photo posted again and you can see the name Marks Models on the label. That's why it never comes up in a Top Flite search!!
OK, I can sleep now! Not of earth shattering importance but sometimes I just can't let something go until I find an answer! Kind of a neat looking airplane, from the 1974 era.

I can spare a set of ribs & tips, plus the plywood doublers at no cost.  I just need your mailing address.
