They are finally done - Spit & 39
« on: March 05, 2008, 10:52:27 AM »
They are finally done.  Even tied lines for the Spitfire.  Have to make weights for the wing tip boxes yet.  The first pic includes the hindrance I've had.  That is Sandy the Arizona transplant.  No final weights other than the P-39 feels heavy compared to the Spitfire.  First flights at Tucson.  Later,  DOC Holliday

Terry, the Bill Simons P-39 is a Walter Umland kit.  Don't know if he plans on making anymore or not.  By the way the pictures make the planes look so much better.  You'll see when you see it in person.  At least I won't hide these behind the bush like I did the Brodak Nobler.  DOC Holliday

Hi Doc,

I think they are both gorgeous. y1  The Spit *might* be my favorite of the two!

The Spitfire is my favorite for sure...I have a P-39 unbuilt but may have to do a Spit first. Where can we get the plans for that one?

Doc you are ready to let them have it with both barrels!  Jack told me last year that he thought the Spit might have been the best flyer of the bunch.  It certainly is a great looking bird.

Hoping we get a chance to fly together some time this summer...!
