Very cool, Ty. Looks like you're having fun.

Always love airplanes in the bones. They just look cool.

Ty,
The wing looks like the Excaliber wing and it doesnt seem to hamper its performance. I have one in the repair cue, I stuffed it after running out of fuel in the overhead eights,, different climate than I was used to and made a rookie mistake. As far as those plans go, I do CAD maybe I should take a look at them? I saw a thumbnail of the plans really small but I liked the looks for a classic plane, something different.

TY,
If you are going to have the Sleekster at VSC, you will have to finish it faster than Sparky can!

Ty,

The Sleekster is one of those planes that I keep thinking I'd like to build but have never gotten around to.  I love elliptical wings and that was one of the first to whet my appetite.  I've been tempted to draw the plans up on cad myself.  Hope to see yours in a week at VSC.

I seem to recall that there was a picture of one in Stunt News of a couple Sleeksters a couple years ago.  don't recall who it was that built them or how they flew.

The wing is fairly thick but kinda football like at the leading edge which isnt how I'd prefer it but the thickness should make up for some of that.  Maybe the turbulator spars will help too.  At any rate it is a sleek and pretty airplane.  Hope yours flys well.  Love the lines.

Hi Jim. See you in a few days.  I doubt if the Sleekster will be ready by Friday when Mary and I head for Phoenix.  The fuel tank area is a tad tight and giving me fits as is the cowl..  If I had done it like the original and stuck a ballon in for a tank, it would be done by now.  I may bring it just to look at. Trying to find some hard, but flexible spars was a fun thing.  I left out the main spar, as it was overkill.  I just used cross braces to stiffen the center.
This is a plane than needs to be kitted, laser cut, CAD plans to get it right. Hmmm. H^^

Ty,

Bring it anyway if you have the room.  I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to see it.

Ty,

You ought to talk to Pat Johnston about CAD plans. I'm sure he'd take a shot at it.
