Rabe Bearcat

(1/1)

Dennis Coleman:
Hi Everyone.  I going to get started on a Rabe Bearcat. I'm going to use an R&B .51 with the rear exhaust.   Does anyone have any tricks or hints on the construction?

Craig Beswick:
Dennis,
On YouTube type on Al Rabe BBQ Bearcat. There is a construction series.

Trostle:
Which Rabe Bearcat?  American Modeler Plans, or a later version, if so, which one?

Whatever version, recommend using the Bob Hunt lost foam technique for the wing.  It is about the lightest way to get a fully sheeted wing and it will be true.  Also recommend, whatever version, to do molded fuselage shells.  All of Rabe's Bearcat are great fliers, but need to be light and have adequate power.

Dennis Coleman:
Hi Keith:

It's the later version.  I always liked your Gulf version.  To me it was the definitive Rabe Bearcat.  I'll get ahold of Bob Hunt and get the wing and use the shell version for the Fuselage.
