Mark,
I agree on the frisket, but when your doing this stuff around a lot of tight, compound curves, frisket just doesn't get it. It can be done with frisket, but it's, I think, even more complicated. Using the 1/8" and 1/16" Finesse pinstripping tape is sure tedious, but I'm actually kinda having fun with it. And I think it will look good in the end. I'm still trying to decide if I want anything else on in after the checks. I don't think so, but we'll see.
The scheme was pretty simple until the checks. My original plan (a sort of small, simple check layout for an accent) just wasn't going to work. So I came up with something different, then I had this idea ... Well, it will be interesting, anyway.
I mixed some yellow up for it that I really kind of like. It was a sort of screaming lemon yellow color (that's actually the name) and I added some red and a tiny bit of black and it's, well, it's an interesting color. The red is just red. Bright fire engine red. Should be fun in the end.
