Most of mine have been posted already - but I still enjoy seeing them.  <=

This is my 2004 Oriental with an OS FP 35. Nice flying little machine.

I stopped building Orientals when I got tired of people asking me if it was an ARF.  '' ''

All right folks.  This is part of my classic fleet.  The blue and black and ruby and white are RSM Thunderbirds. The white and colbalt blue Little Thunderbird is the Larry Richard's kit. And the cream and colbat colored one is a Veco thunderbird.  The two RSM birds have Rojett motors, while the Veco is an FP 40 and little t-bird is an FP 25.

Here are two more:

One is my old Nobler, powered by a Double Star 40. I'm building a new one this winter for an Aero Tiger 36.

The second is Dave Reyes' Knight. This is a Jack Sheeks design and Dave flies it with a Thunder Tiger 36.

Enjoy,  <= <=

After taking the summer of from building the RSM Crusader I've gotten back in the swing. Here it is so far, going to use the Merco 40 Metamorph in the RE configuration, had to readjust the engine compartment a little but nothing drastic.

Mike Haverly's new JD Falcon flew today for the first time. The paint graphics are pretty much copied from Pat Johnston's MustangX and (Rabe) Bearcat, but the colors changed. It's pretty cool. Brodak .40 powered, not enough ground clearance may be its biggest problem...a 10" prop is at risk. I don't see this as being a good thing. A prop "tick" on takeoff can blow an attempt real quick. I'll work on him to make a longer LG... :! Steve

This is a common problem with Classics. I love that sexy, low slung look, but it severely limits your prop selection.

I have a "True Scale" Argus in the basement and even a 10 inch prop was too much. It became a Rev-Up 9.5 x 6 EW after a few flights.  f~

Here are a few shots of my Caprice . I designed this ship in 1967. It was greatly inspired by Gene Schaffer's "Blackbird" that he flew from 1967 through 1969.

In case anyone is interested I have plans available for this model.

Hi Ty:

This particular color is actually a copper. It is a Ford truck color. I've used several shades of bronze, copper and metallic brown in this basic trim scheme over the years. Billy Werwage hates it and that's why I keep using it: Just to annoy him! :)

Hi Bob. See my post above on new projects. That is a .46 Skylark unerconstruction.

Oops, sorry, rudder looked right but in the picture the wing looks to be constant cord and thought it was some design with a Skylark rudder and Oriental wing. Must be my glasses  n~

Hi randy
hopefully dad and i will make it up there this year. the new cougar flys pretty awesome so far so i will probably save the f4 for after tucson. planning to do it in navy colors
the plans were run in a small size in stunt news a while back. i got them from the editor
not an easy build but it looks like it will look pretty cool when it is done.
just trying to keep up with you randy.

Dave,

No keeping up here. Just trying to get a classic plane and a PA plane that both fly allright. Seems to be a problem for me.   :)

I have no idea what I'll build next except that it will be a backup PA plane. I have plans on the wall right now for a plane I call "Thief". There's a reason for that name that I won't go into right now.   :##

Dave,

My close friend, Bill Suarez would love that F-4. For anyone needing plans, I would suggest that you give Bill a call (see PAMPA directory).

Jim P,
Jim Lee's Gee Bees were great flying machines, I didn't know that he lost one.

Dave,
That Gee Bee is coming out super! The bumps on the cowl look great, and must have been a lot of work.

I am attaching pictures of Bob Miller with the original Extended Gee Bee. The picture was taken at the 2-23-64 Garden State Circle Burners "Snow Bird Meet"

I have many more photos from that contest. Looking back, I am amazed at how many people at that meet, gained various degrees of fame, and have published articles.  To name a few: Gene Shaeffer; Bill Simons; John D'Ottavio; Ed Elasick; Moses Quintana; Harold Price; Larry Scarinzi;  Andy Lee; Bob Miller; and even yours truly!

Hi Bill
Todd mentioned that I needed to check this thread!!  Dave's new Gee Bee is looking just Awesome!!!
And to make a few minor corrections....    She saw me flying a green box Nobler with a golden Fox 35 before we met....   I built my first Classic Gee Bee the next year while at Ottawa U in Ottawa, KS  '66-67.  It lasted for  a couple of years...  Powered with an early Enya 45 plain bearing.  Did #2 right after we moved to Topeka, probably '71 - '72  still using the old Enya, repowered that one with a Fox 59...   that was Awesome!!   It didn't fly a bit faster, but it NEVER slowed down!!  or sped up...   Pilot error caused it to get drilled...   The third one is the one you all have seen...  It became history at the KOI a few years ago...   Moral,  Never get in a hurry!!!  #4 is started, has been for a couple of years...  #3 had an Awesome Silver Foxx 40, which became dust and #4 will also have a Silver Fox 40....   Gotta watch the nose weight since it originally had an unmuffled Fox 35.....
I finally got the picture scanned and copied...  Todd has my Sig Mustang, picture was taken at the Sig Contest several years ago...He probably beat me with the little Mustang also!!!   Durn Kids!!! ;D
