HI All

This is the 1970 McDonald Stiletto
Won The  1970 KOI  and was powered by a FOX 35,  Very soon after Les   Discovered the  OS 35  and that engine was the one of choice for many years

If he flew it in the 1970 KOI, wouldn't it have been built in 1969?

Hmmm, could have been late in the year, I guess.

RAndy,

OK. I had thought maybe the KOI was in January of 1970. Oh well.

Way back in the sixties, the KOI was a super huge contest, with RC, FF, and CL. We all considered it a Winter Nationals.

The ones I attended were held a week or two before Christmas.

I guess it is like Vic Macaluso's F-8 Crusader he built for the '70 NATS.  He didn't start on it until he crashed his planes in early 1970.  It was a construction article along with Billy Suarez's F-4 Phantom (which IS Classic Legal!) in AM in 1971, IIRC.
