Title: Landing gear on Classic ships?
Post by: Dennis Toth on November 25, 2020, 08:49:57 AM
Looking at some different designs that qualify date wise for Classic but were hand launched. Do the Classic rules, like the OTS rules, allow for the addition of appropriately located gear to these ships?

I do not think that the PAMPA rules for Classic address this situation.  I would like to think that most EDs would allow it, but that does not really address the problem.  I think this could easily be resolved by the PAMPA leadership by making a very simple change to their rules to allow it.

I assume the use of adjustable leadout position would be the same?

I've got one hanging in the front of the shop.  Plans show McCoy 60 Red Head for power.  Have only flown it a couple of times as if you level off for a few laps it disappears from the shaking of the plane.  As long as you keep doing maneuvers it is okay.   I am using a Fox 50 set up for control line.  It has never been to VSC.  May have to dust it off.  Oh, the plans show removable landing gear.
