Joe Dill's brand new AWESOMELY BEAUTIFUL...JIM KOSTECKY'S "TALON!" Shown here at the Scobee Memorial Event
in Auburn this last weekend.

Both he and his long time flying bud Bob Welch...were in attendance. Great to see so many long time addicted CLPA advocates still playin' with toy airplanes on strings.

That does look good  H^^

Did you get any photos that show a side view?
I built a Blue Pants as a kid. Wish I still had it. Might even learn to fly it.

No..
but here is the plans and a photo of Gary Letsinger's old Talon from about a hundred years ago at Sand Point NAS in Seattle being held by his long time friend.

Speaking of long time friends...check out the model at the bottom of the photo...(That modified Shark of Joe Dill that took over  a half dozen or more 1st place wins in a row...during those mid 1960's)

Thanks!

Actually, I was wondering about the fuselage color scheme. I don't often like very light blues but the contrast on this one caught my eye.

My copy of the FM plan of Jim's Talon looks just like that, pencil marks all over it, but I was only 14 when I did it. A few weeks after the magazine dropped through the letterbox I started on the Talon, I was keen then! The model flew well though.

Cheers

Joe was a weenie and didn't fly it, but it sure is nice looking. Said it had a McCoy 40 in the nose but he was probably going to go with something else. Pastel blue.

Ah, yea, that's a good idea. You'd break Joe. We can't have that. Besides, apoplexy is not pretty.

**) Even though our LITTLE BIG MAN JOE...has been lucky enough recently to jump out of the way of that GOLDEN "SWING'N'  LOW SWEET CHARIOT RIDE" to the other side...and knowing just how tough n strong  he used to be...humm?
EVEN TODAY...in his GOLDEN DAZE DAYS...I WOULD BET WHAT'S LEFT IN MY TATTERED 0 .401 K ACCOUNT...that none of us could UNPRY his fingers offa that beautiful new CLPA RIDE that he showed off to everyone this last week end.
SO GREAT TO SEE BOTH HE AND PEGGY doing so well!

I didn't realise, but from the photos the Talon looks like it has a fairly low A/R?

Shultzie, I have an excuse,  ;)  I just had radiotherapy, some days I can hardly speak properly!  ;D  I'm sure that's a blessing to some others. I re-read that after I typed it and still didn't see it, worrying isn't it ??? and the x is nowhere near the w?
