Well Bill Little asked me for this a LOOOOONNNNGGGGGG! time ago. Its been way too long since model was finished and 2 years between its 1st and 2nd flights. Last time, I had some run problems and had made adjustments. Today, 2 years later, it started first flip and ran well. It did pickup some swarf apparently, and leaned out but later settled back down a bit. So I still have some tinkering to do, but the promise has been made. I did get to do some wingovers an I gotta tell ya, this model is surprising. It turns tighter then anything else I've flown and doesn't have the mush I expected in hard turns. The wing is incredibly thin and the LE pretty sharp even after I blunted it. I set this up with about a .33:1 flap to elevator ratio, and its excellent on first impression. I have a couple things to do, like bush the landing gear torque sockets, the tangs are so short they have already wallowed out, which I sort of expected. I also need to lengthen the nose gear, it nose hops on takeoff triming trenches in the grass, I knew it was low, but I expected a bit better. I built it to the normal side view stance on the plans which looks real aggressive, but its not too practical unless you fly on pavement all the time.
Anyway, I hope to get the fixes done and trimming seriously underway so I can fly this at the Columbus and Dayton meets (provided of course it works out I can actually make them). I'm very pleasantly surprized at the potential this model seems to have, time and flying will tell all.
