Ty,

Looks very cool. Almost like it's cut out of foam board or something. Look forward to seeing it assembled.

Looks good.

I am glad to see someone building that airplane. It's a beautiful one.

Just old fashioned balsa. The wing is very much like the typical Veco wings with the two 1/8 rear spars. The gray is automotive primer. Fills nicely and sands easily.  Now to fit the canopy. I even have a pilot set aside. He weighs about one gram.

Hi Ty,

The auto primer is great!  Just make sure that 99% of it is sanded off. ;D

TY, Don't think I'd want to do Pactra nowadays. I've heard it's some kind of weird Acrylic Lacquer. I did have some curdling problems because I shot the first coat of Sig dope too heavily. I stopped when I saw the curdles, Let it dry 24 hrs, sanded them smooth then sprayed two or three mist coats then next day, two normal coats. Came out fine. I always seem to do the first coat too heavily.  n~  n~ My Biggest mistake was using Enamel primer. b1  Boy does that curdle when hit with dope.
