 One thing I would suggest on any i/beam is to tack mount all body blocks on to the body before building the wing. Do not add the spare yet. Carve the blocks to shape. Build the cowl and finish the engine compartment. Remove blocks and hollow them. Doing the nose before the wing is built makes it go fast and it is easy to work on the plane. Once the body work is done the wing building goes very fast.  After wing and stab are mounted glue blocks back on. Doing it this way cuts building time in half.

Looking really nice!

I just bought a Brodak '59 Ares Kit to build. Any tips on this one and why are there so many model years of Ares?

Sorry to hear about the canopy misfit. Caving those balsa blocks is not fun.

I've started my Brodak '59 Ares, the spar is done. I've build I-beams before this one just uses different ribs mostly.

Have a question on bellcrank size. The Brodak parts list calls out a 4" but sent a 3". Plan sheet 1 shows a 3" and sheet 2 shows a 4".
What do you think?
