Wheels for an Argus/ Prop??

This will fly off asphalt and know wheels can wear out fast. So the foamies will not work, any input?? I guess a 3 bladed prop will be needed also. Power will be a Brodak .40 or T&L Hybrid McCoy .40.

The thin racing wheels are still being made, assuming we are talking about the same thing. I just got a bunch from Joe Just. He lurks around here on the forums occasionally. or he can be found in the "classifieds" on the flying lines website.

Hanger 9's lightweight wheels are nice...not as light as the foam ones, but reasonable, and fairly narrow. The LHS sometimes has narrow plastic wheels for pylon racing. I have some, but not sure I can find them this week! They are a bit over 2" diameter...maybe too big on the dia.

Dan...
I know several that achieve hundreds of flights from Foamies...
Dave Brown Electrics are skinny and available in many sizes. Make them removable.
Proping a Brodak-40: Most around here are using an A 10 1/2 X 4 1/2 and let the motor spin up. I just started fooling with a B-40 with a 10X6 RSM prop....
Have fun!

Hi Dan
Built by the plan, my '58 Argus could not clear more than a 10 prop. And barely that much. Steve's later '60 World Champs plane (unpublished) was a touch bigger and had more prop clearance. he used a 9 1/2" on his original.
