Formula S finished and flown
« on: August 09, 2010, 03:59:39 PM »
I didn't make the deadline for the Nats but it is now finished and flown.  Broke the pointed tip off the stab, got a feeling that will be an ongoing problem HB~>.

Will try to post a couple of picks.

HI James,

That really turned out nice!  How did it feel on the lines?

Also, I forgot what you used for power...

Bill,

Thanks, I have a Byron Barker Mag 36.  I'm going to have to get use to flying something that's lite on the lines (compared to my heavy Shark that seemed like it was trying to pull the tendons out of your shoulder).  It's around 56-57 ounces.  I'm planning to have it at Paducah this weekend.  It looks pretty cool on the end of the lines, the first plane I've had that has the cockpit that far forward.

Hey Jim, the plane looks great.  Show them how it is done at Paducah.  Do you maintain the circle, I guess is at the Springfield site?  Also when do you get out to fly? H^^

James,

So, I assume you got the finish issue worked out. Good for you. Sure looks nice.

Randy,

Thanks.  Good enough for now, figure I'd wait to see how it flies andhow much more damage I can do by the end of the flying season.

The circle is good.  I talked with the parks department early last week and they are going to work in laying a concrete pad in the center so we aren't standing on grass (I told them it was a safety issue as it will give better footing and keep you centered in the circle).

Thanks Matt, I like the way it looks on the end of the lines.  Hope to use it at Paducah this weekend.

Tom,

Thanks, looking forward to getting together (I need all the help I can get).  Ben did his first wingover on his own with the plane you gave him yesterday.

How about a fun fly later in the fall?  I now have the fuel tank secure in the old Ford as well as a rebuilt starter.  Battery is on the chart for replacement even tho the tag says I have several months to go.   #^ #^
