It took way more effort than I had thought, but the DS-50 is out of my Nakke and a Tower 40 is in there instead. I was able to drill new mounting holes in the engine bearers for the front holes but the rear ones were too close to the original holes so I had to make a mess of the mounting lugs on the engine to make it fit. I will test it out soon.
The DS-50 ran great and the plane won many contests, but all my Doublestars HATE backpressure of any sort and really want to run open exhaust or a very drilled out tongue muffler, and the noise is just shatteringly loud. This wasn't an issue when the club flew at Fentriss NALF and the noise paled in comparison to F-18s but it had become too loud to use anywhere else.

Looks good Steve how bout a picture of the plane ? I finished a new plane April 1st & decided to replace the engine May 1st. Nothing fit so it took a while to complete but it was worth the effort.
I flew my Nakke probably 15 years , had many engines in it. The one that served me best was the Magnum .53.

Very Good . ' Found ' a D. S. 60 Lite . Has ten ton of sub piston induction. Which'd explain the complaining on Back Pressure .
Just doing a FP 40 or two ( the Towers Cloned ) into a plane or two . One of which wouldabin a Stalker 51 Otherwise . Gunna Trya 12 x 4 .n see wot appens . Seemed to work init before .
I butchered my lugs at 2 am, so had to do the other pair too. As id went the wrong way. Just slotted them . F & R. so can slide it around , now . LL~
Keep us posted, on its performance . ( Theres a lot of FP 40 & 35 info in ' search ' here . )

Not a very fancy paint scheme but I built it about 15 years ago.
