Classic Planes
« on: August 10, 2016, 07:38:00 PM »
How about a sticky for classic planes. A place where newbies can go and see what is classic legal with maybe a picture or two of each plane. It sure would be easier than trying to find a list.

I have the classic book. It does, in fact, have a lot of classic planes. I'd say closer to 90% of them, but that is a lot.

I want to start a plane I can fly in intermediate and classic Next year at the Nats if I get my skills up. I decided on Bob Hunts Caprice. But I just thought it would be a great resource to be able to go to one spot and find a list of classic legal planes. And even OTS in that category without it moving to the bottom.

This has come up a number of times before.

Yes, the Tom Morris/PAMPA compilation of Classic models is a valuable resource.

A more complete list of Classic legal models from around the world (all 432 of them) was compiled by Dave Day and is posted on Windy's website at

http://www.windyurtnowski.com/DaveDay/classic.htm

Also on that site is Dave's compilation of OTS legal models (465 of these things) as well.

Wow No idea there was that many documented. That's awesome. All put in a sticky would be great. And I will be getting Toms book.
