Classic Pegasus Retracts

I have two questions for anyone, I am in the process of building an ECL Pegasus and I'm experimenting with a timer feature that will allow for retractable landing gear. I'm pretty sure I can use it to compete in Precision Aerobatics, but I need to know if the change from fixed to retractable landing gear is enough to disqualify the airplane from Classic legality. I also need to know if the Pegasus is even Classic Legal.

Bob Whitely did this with his Rabe Mustang at VSC in 1994(?) As long as he didn't retract the gear, he was fine. He used the same plane in Expert at other contests and retracted the gear.

So I suppose another part of the question could be, that the gear on the original airplane were fuselage mounted and I have them wing mounted? Thank you for the Answer!

Making a change from fuse mounted gear to wing mount, unless someone built one with the gear in the wing in the qualifying period, would probably, ah, be looked down on.

that's what I figured, I have a solution to that problem... I just don't know if I really want to add the weight or not...
