A few not on the list, some from the PAMPA book, Granted most are 1/2A, which in the past was a big deal. These are from page 1 thru 31.
Martin B-26 Marauder-Shulman-AT 5302
Indeed, the Leon Shulman B-26 was published in the March 1953 issue of Airtrails. So it is Classic Stunt legal.
I had several rounds of communication with Leon Shulman in early 2004. He sent me a photograph showing Leon, his son Don at the age of two that was taken in 1948 posing with that B-26 that was published over 4 years later. Leon sent me several emails explaining that the airplane was built and flown before 1950.
He sent me a letter, under his letterhead, dated February 3, 2004 with the following statement:
"I Leon Shulman, prepared the referenced Martin B-26 control line construction article that was published in the March 1953 issue of Air Trails magazine. I drew the plans, built, and flew the model that was shown in that magazine article prior to December 31, 1952.
"[signed] Leon Shulman AMA #L-8"
So, that Shulman B-26 is OTS legal.
I was seriously thinking about building one for OTS. After I saw Tom McClain build a B-26 from scale RC plans to fly in Classic Stunt, I thought that the Shulman B-26, if built light enough, could be built to fly the OTS pattern. The B-26 has good proportions and a symmetrical airfoil shown on the Shulman plans. (Tom flew that big B-26 at one VSC and got it through the modern pattern.) That project is still on my "to do list", but its priority has been reduced. I have built several scale designs from pre-1952 that I thought would be able to fly a presentable OTS pattern, and have been disappointed in the results in 3 out of 4 tries. So I am not ready to try this one right now.
I would be willing to share the correspondence I had with Leon Shulman if anyone is interested.
Plans are available from the AMA plans service.
