Looking to build a classic I can also fly in profile.  What might be a good choice?

Tom Warden's "Trophy Trainer", Dick Mathis' "Coyote". Both well proven competitive designs. 8)

You might consider the Brodak Original Magician.  I flew it for two seasons in both Classic and Profile contests.  :)  Or perhaps the larger version like Midwest used to sell.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.  I do like the looks of the Cavalier.  That might be the one.

Is the profile Cavalier OK for Classic? I am a Magician guy just because I like them. I build them with flaps right off of the Midwest plan and they fly well. I have flown them in profile, classic, and PA.

Flite Streaks are Classic legal, and fly better than most of us can fly them.

Oriental profiles are popular in SE Michigan.  The Sig Banshee is classic legal based on what has been written on forums, but you may have to get a sworn affidavit.  Same goes for a Nobler profile, these have been done according to many but you may need some kind of documentation.

Thanks Ty; That is very good to know. The Cavalier is a really nice plane. I have the plans for the full fuse one, but not for the profile. Need to build one one of these days. John designed one beautiful plane that flys very well.

I've checked and I don't see the Cavalier listed in Tom's website.

I ordered a Cavalier from Tom.  Talk about a super nice guy, he will sell you anything you need from wing kits to full kit at a reasonable price too.  And since it will be my first time doing a Lincoln log he wants me to call him so he can walk me thru it...  Talk about service.

Met him at Brodaks this year.  Very nice fellow and we talked a lot about building and laser cutting. At this point, the Cavalier is at the top of my list.  Looking to get just plans as I scratch build most of my stuff.

I ordered and received my wing kit from Tom.  WOW!!!  He includes everything you need to build the wing and then some.  The controls bellcrank with leadouts.  The wing tip slider and the weight box.  The horns are prebent and have the hard wood ready for the flaps.
The has to be the best wing I ever seen.
