Last but not least, the cowling.

Finished recessing the louvers and now the silk is completed.

One coat and a quick 250 brakes off the hanging silk.

Few more coats and the model will be ready for primer.

That's when the work really begins.

Cowling completed with recessed working louvers to vent out hot air.

Primer to follow.

The Gee Bee R3 is now totally framed and ready for finishing. The real work is about to begin.

You mean ARGO. No I haven't, it's not totally finished. I'm trying to sell it.  ;D

I think I will fly the Stuka first. I have a few things to do to it first.

I believe the Stuka will work well off of our flying field. But, I do have a great parking lot I could use.

Just saw your reply, I haven't been in the Thread for quite some time.

The Gee Bee R-3 is leaning against a wall collecting dust.

I've been working on Pushy Galore.

As soon as I pick up some Deftcon 4, I use it to apply silk in some ares. I'll do the inside of the cowling using Deft and silk.

Then the model will be just about ready for primer.

See how things go over the next few weeks.

I have to order primer.

Just when you think a model has gotten to a point where it's time to consider the finish, scheme and color, WRONG!

Well, I'm considering converting the GBR-3 to Electric. In fact, it looks like it's going to happen. Here's what I have to work with.

As from the photos above, IC to "E" I've done it before but...

Looks like I have a bunch of woodwork to do.  n~

Cut and remove stuff here and there, drill a few holes here and there and fill some holes here and there.

Mount the motor so it's shaft is aligned exactly where the Novarossi Rex 57R was.

I'll need a hatch, that's for sure, on the top or bottom? And, I'm guessing the cowling can be glued in place by the time I'm done.

No point in having a removable cowling with a hatch? Plus, there should be holes for the movement of air. The cowling, fortunately, already has a large opening for air intake.

There's plenty going on here.

The Novarossi Rex 57CR has been removed. I've removed unneeded timber from the nose. I also set the motor in place.
