These are the only Ringmasters I have ever built.  Both fly very well and are a credit to Brodak's continuing excellence in kit manufacturing.

Well, here is one I built with George Hostler holding it after flying today.  What a great day it was.  And owe I am refinishing after the Ringmaster Marathon.   George is from Clovis New Mexico in town visiting relatives of his.  Did I say we or I had a lot of fun.   Great to see someone fly my planes.

Here's one, built in 2005 from an RSM kit.  It no longer exists ("Juuuussssst a bit outside!") but sure was fun while it lasted.

That pic was taken at the Sorocaba airport, where the Fly-A-Thon took place this year in Brazil.
That's why you see more rings...
Will have a build thread on my Ringmaster kit by my friend Marcelo Cremon's company, Seritec
You must know him from the Brotherhood fórum.

I'm coaching a club member, and he's been flying a Ring. haven't crashed for a few weeks now, and he loves the plane.
Well, who doesn't, anyway??

John,

With all appologies, I'm off topic.

I have no ringmaster to show.

I did own one once. Does that count?

I never liked the looks of them. Well, you want me honest don't you?

I think I've had a slight change of heart, I should say change of seeing.

These photos and your interest has inspired me.

I do know of the Imperial but would not want a full-fuselage model. I have my hands full with them right now.

All I have for IC engines are an OS LA .40.

So, how many different size Ringmasters are there?

If I was you.....I'd add a size all my own....call it a RM variant like I do from time to time. Here's my 13yr old daughter building a miniature that I named the Rookie:

Well for a 40 sized Ringmaster you could try one of Pat Johnston's Ringmaster 526 design. This is a profile with partial flaps.

As to how many variants of the Ringmaster there are, I do not believe anyone knows for certain but there probably are between thirty and fifty!!!

John,

Thanks for the reply. My gosh! 81, you make me feel like a child. Thank you for that.

I didn't know Pat Johnston did Ringmasters. Didn't really know Pat Johnston either,  n~

But I'm currently looking at his splendid designs, just tonight in fact. Pat is talented to say the least.

I knew the Ringmaster was popular, but didn't realize how many designs were available. My interest would be cut parts, not just plans.

What are you flying for a Ringmaster?

Thanks again for the reply.

Pat King and Pat Johnson both do Ringmasters ... there a 2X Ringmasters at 82" ... the are 1.5X Ringmasters ... at least 5 different 42" Ringmasters and then juniors and half A ... plus the biplane Ringmasters and X wing Ringmasters ... oh yeah forgot the Imperials and various supers ... A lot of Ringmasters.  All fly more or less like Ringmasters.

By me it's done all the time, but the prefab metal tanks only work on the starboard side.  y1 A clunk tank is hard to keep in place on the starboard side because centrifugal force wants to sling it off....so mounting it inboard gives support and doesn't need near as much to hold it in place. Remember, all the planes with hollow bodies have tanks centerline? Some even in the wings. The trick is to get the tank setup and plumbed in correctly. H^^

Bunch of different sizes old but new and a new new. Some R/C type bottles also. I'll have to dig them up.

I'm only keeping two tanks, one for the Flite Streak and the custom tank for the Mig-3.

I'll get a photo.
