Elwyn Aud posted this web site for some WW2 Brit aircraft pictures. Great shots especially whe you look closely for tail hooks. Check out the biplane. I swear there is a hook peaking out below. Great pictures.

Reply - there is a hook.  It is a Fairey Albacore:

Not sure but that may be the one that initiated sinking the Bismarck with a torpedo to the rudder.

The Bismarck was attacked (and damaged) by Fairey Swordfish from HMS Ark Royal -- The Albacore was to be the replacement for the Swordfish, but was no more adequate and often was re-replaced by 'obsolete' Swordfish in operational squadrons.

The Albacore was the one that sank the Italian Navy at Taranto.  Its an old joke but the new Italian navy has glass bottom boats........so they can see the old Italian navy!  Sorry to all you Italians out there! H^^
