Although this does also refer to the '74-75 AMA rulebook, but should help get you going.

Good answer.  There are only TWO items from the old AMA Rule Book that matter are:

Low speed points are three times the difference in MPH between high and low speed.
By the old rules, a plane that went 80 high and 20 low would score 60 x 3 = 180 points.
Under the modern regime the score would be 80/20 x 10 = 40 points.
Both systems added in the high MPH in points, thus 80 points either way.
The modern system results in numerically lower scores, but generally the same placement.

The other difference is that the modern rules limit the low speed angle to 60 degrees.
The old rules used a 90 degree limit.  But with no slider, it's though to hang over 60 degrees, even it the rules permit it.

Tom,

I have attached the rules and supporting documentation. Unfortunately, NCS does not have a functioning web site. Right now we only have a FB Group. I'll also figure out how to put the information on there under FILES.

A word about the plane list compiled by Dick Perry. It is intended as useful information and is not the official word on eligible designs.

The rules are now available on the Navy carrier Society FB Group under FILES.
