What happened to the Guardian at Brodaks?
« on: November 01, 2010, 11:25:15 AM »
Saw a very pretty grey Guardian on the flight line at Brodaks, next time I saw it was in a photo with one wing kinda messed up. Wondering what happened and if anything can be learned from the mishap for us new guys...

Is this the one? If it is, perhaps Gary/ or the owner/flier an explain how it happened.

Yep that was mine. Between me and the goofy wind in the corner, I managed to cartwheel it and everything was broken including the neck of the engine where the carb fits in. It would have made out a lot better if it nosed or took a tail hit. So it was totalled and scrapped. I am in the process of building another Guardian except this time it will be a prototype with the round tail. I do enjoy making the airplanes look prototypical as much as possible. I flew my other gray Guardian for the rest of the year and it will be my backup for next year. I will post some pictures when I get some.
