Title: Two-wire control system

I have come into a well-designed and very well built Sea Mew with a two-wire control system. It has solid lead-outs lines and I assume it will use solid flying wires. The rear wire is designed to rotate to actuate the throttle and flaps.

My question is - has anyone seen such a system and what did the control handle look like?

I can envision how to design and build one that would work, but however built this model was on top of their game and might have had an even better way of building a control handle for this system.

That sounds like the dual mono-line set up Dale Kirn used to have.  One for the elevator and the other for the throttle.  I do not remember how the handle was configured.

The system I have uses both lines for elevator, with the rear line rotating for throttle/flaps.

That sounds like a good theory.  A basic bellcrank for up & down and spinning one line to work the throttle.  It would take some very skilled mechanical work to make it happen.  Maybe you can do it. If it works, it will be great.

One thing:  Monoline systems require a fairly large solid steel wire to transmit enough troque to work the elevator.  So you might find that when you upsize the wires enough to work the throttle, you may have lost your advantage vis-a-vis 3 lines.

Line size is not a problem. I fly 1/2A Speed mono line with 0.014 line.
