Title: Sterling Sky Shark
Post by: John Craig on May 21, 2015, 05:26:38 PM
Sterling Sky Shark, yes it no longer fits the carrier rules.  I am thinking of Fun Scale C/L.  Modern .15 to 25 R/C engine.  Can it do simple stunts?  Inside & outside loops, inverted flight, wing over etc.  & not to difficult to fly ?

Comments & suggestions.

Thanks
JEC

My Sterling Skyshark was powered variously by a McCoy Red Head .35 R/C and a Super Tigre G21 40 Ringed R/C. The plane is a dream to fly. As for basic aerobatic maneuvers, I never actually tried any. My focus was strictly Navy Carrier. I don't see why one wouldn't loop if you keep up enough speed. For sure go with at least the .25. I did do a pretty nice sabre dance with the ST power.

The Sky Shark had a good run here in he NW as a .15 Carrier ship with a Cox Conquest for power.

It can also fly in class I, but no bonus points. Nice plane, most kits were a bit heavy for the wing size.
