I came across some old pics I thought some of you might like.  I know the barracuda and kingfisher are Tom Schaefer's

I just stumbled onto these pics. A couple of them are planes I built!  The  I built 2 Barracudas. The first one had a foam wing and a K&B 40s with tuned pipe. Went like hell (14.2 off the deck)but I could not get the idle good enough. Second one was more conventional. I passed both on to my local carrier pal John O'Hara and he got them working good. I suspect the pictures are from he had them.  The Kingfisher is the second one I built.  In it's day it was very successful. Won Class ll at the Nats twice (OS .45RSR) and is still in operating condition! I have flown it at the Brodak numerous times and even though it is outclassed now by planes that will fly slower, it still gives the crowd an authentic old school thrill as it thunders around. Although I use underspec fuel she still goes pretty good! :)   Thanks for the memories,   TS
