Title: Rehabing a 1983 Profile to the 2015 standard.
Post by: Paul Smith on February 29, 2016, 06:26:21 PM
This model was given to me.  A very nice plane, but too many functions for three lines and set up backwards vis a vis the current norm.

Up, down, fast, slow, drop hook, slider.   Six things on three lines.  Too much for me.

But apparently it's going to take 90 years.

Yeah, I hope they don't change the rules again before I get it done.

You can change the subject line of a post.

It looks like good work so far.  Are you triggering everything off the throttle, or are you using the steering wheel and/or 3rd switch (if there is one) to actuate stuff?

All together with six weeks to spare before the BIG contest in Detroit.

Originally the throttle line released the slider.  I will still fly on three lines with the J Roberts handle and use the third line exclusively for the slider.  The throttle is now controlled with a Fly Sky car controller in my left hand.  The hook still drops on full down.

The electrics are boxed in with scrap balsa and Hot Stuff, then covered with Monocote and FasCal.  No hatches or latches.  If there's a problem I cut and reseal.

The servo, which CAN fail is screwed on with a little plywood box.
