The ATDN-1 looks fascinating!  Anyone have a 3-view of this craft?

I wonder how many warbirds are still at the bottom of the lake?

The Navy does not write them off like the Army does. Lots of red tape to go threw to get one, almost takes an act of Congress.     Mike

I recently read (not sure where) that there are around 3 dozen Navy aircraft in Lake Michigan waiting to be recovered.

I have seen the beautiful model of the Uss Wolverine at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo.  That the USN made practical use of a side paddle wheel aircraft carrier is just too cool.  By the time these guys got to a fleet carrier it had to look like an island, plus the fleet carriers were around 10 knots faster.  All good stuff!

Some years ago .... maybe 5 or less..... an SBD was recovered from the lake. Nearly intact after all these years.

Lake Michigan is an all-American lake.  No international water.  Anything the government sunk in Lake Michigan is still government property.
