Joe,

I/ve never attemped carrier before although I've had some interest in it for 30 years %^@

Does it need to have the 300 sq inch wing?, I have a Sterling skyshark I was gonna build but I know its less than 300.  If it needs to be 300 I have plans for a Brodak bearcat I could build as well.

Maybe I could fly my first stunt pattern and carrier flight on the same day  LL~ LL~ LL~

I'd have to use a Mccoy .35 RC engine although i'don't expect it would be to good on the fast laps, what do you think?

Thanks
I've started plenty...would be nice to finish something!!!

Dennis, because this event is intended for guys much like yourself there is enough bendability to allow your entry. Certainly the McCoy .35 will be fine as will the skylark.  Re-read the rules as we attached and give the event a try.

Thanks Joe, I started cutting  the patterns out this weekend.   The Bearcat ended up being easier since it uses a bult up leading edge and a few other things.  It means I don't really need to buy to much to get going. So we'll see if I can get it in the air in time VD~

Hi Joe, I got an official flight in last week. Going to try to improve my low speed this week. Used my new Spearfish, flaps and aileron are just cool and the thing lands like a Cessna 172. OS-32 w/perry carb, great combination.  8)

Pete, go for it!~  PLEASE,PLEASE ENTER BY THE END OF SEPT. thanks, another morning beginms on a positive note.

For you other guys, that perhaps dont feel likely to enter based on your alredy sometimes successful carrier flying.....Grab a newbie, put him or her on your beater ship and let them give it a try.  The whole reason behind the Postal Carier Contest is to get people a chance to try Carrier without re-inventing the wheel.  $800 in prizes awaits 6 lucky people and that also includes a free years membership in the navy Carrier Society.

There was some carrier at the FCM in Muncie last week.

I hope they sent in some scores.

Also, an all-day carrier fest in Rouge Park, Detroit, Septmeber 12th.

Paul, nothing from the FCM (not too surprissing as my membership there has been turned down)
Say Hi to marc and Leon and others at Rouge Park. Can you repeat last years attempt with one plane again?

I'd post a pic but I'm embarrassed to say that it is only finished in grey mono-kote (but with Brit rondels) and sig clear dope. Wanted to get some flights in before going through the whole silkspan/dope process. I know there are easier ways to paint a plane but I'm pretty old school when it comes to finishes. Will post when complete.  8)
